Ko wai mātou?

Who are we?

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini.

My strength is not as an individual, but as a collective.

Ngā Mātai Pūrua

Ngā Mātai Pūrua Inc. (NMP) nurtures a thriving environment for Māori individuals, families, and communities in Australia. Our focus is on empowering community members to celebrate their rich cultural heritage.

Our initiatives encompass Māori Performing Arts (Kapa Haka), Advocacy & Consulting Services, Cultural Awareness Training, Youth Work, and Intercultural Collaboration. These efforts foster cultural expression and collaborative growth, embedding NMP as a distinguished entity within the Australian Māori organisational framework.

Emerging from a keen understanding of Māori community needs, NMP has evolved into a significant part of the Australian Maori organizational landscape.

I, Tyson Tuala, NMP Chairperson, am deeply proud to contribute to this organisation, dedicating the skills bestowed upon me towards achieving NMP’s vision and purpose in the broader Australian society.

We have members from all over Metropolitan Melbourne and Rural Victoria but are currently based out of the Hopper's Crossing Youth Resource Centre.

We gather most Sundays from 10am - 2pm. However, feel free to contact us via FB or the contact details provided to confirm times.

Meet the fantastic dynamic team of volunteers who run the behind the scenes action for all things NMP.
